Frida parties all night long is a mixed media piece with bold, bright colors. Honoring the late great artist, Frida Kahlo, this head turner will brightens any room. But wait, there's more!
The painting was actually inspired because I'd heard of Frida Kahlo in passing, but never knew her story. So, around the time of her deathaversary (yikes, that sounds slightly morbid... my bad), I randomly saw a picture of her and wanted to look into what the word on the street was. And lo and behold, she was a pretty amazing, undoubtedly talented, artist. Who knew?
So, I looked into her story more, and woah... talk about tragedy! (spoiler alert: she dies).
She had a really tragic life, too. But man, what a badass! You should really look her up:
Like born "typically developing" into a Mexican family, until 1925 when - get this... she was hit by a BUS! Who lives through that?!? Frida. That's who!!
So she painted - for 3 decades! Dawg... I'm only at 3 1/2 YEARS! (Maybe I'll be so lucky to be half as accomplished)! But A lot of her paintings reflected what stage of life she was in. So, for instance, she was just this sad, depressed, teenager (I mean what 13 year old doesn't already hate life, but throw a life-threatening hit by a bus on top of that and wow. Anyway, here's her story to check her out: https://www.moma.org/artists/2963
